Your clearcoat protects your paint but nothing protects your clearcoat.

Paint Correction removes a miniscule layer - 1 to 2 microns from your 50 micron-thick clearcoat - damaged by scratches, swirls and embedded contaminants that are dulling your shine, then machine buffing it so your original paint can shine through. 

Dirty Harry's can perform up to three levels of Paint Correction - up to 7 microns of your clearcoat without threatening your paint.
