2010
Dirty Harry is certified by prestigious detailing trainer Renny Doyle and his renowned Detailing Success Network.
A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Harry Sandwith, alongside his late brother, had been detailing bikes and vehicles as a hobby for many years.
In 2008, still in his early 50s, Harry was forced into early retirement after 26 years with the Jersey City Police Department, following a motorcycle crash while delivering Toys for Tots for the U.S. Marine Corp. It left him with a traumatic brain injury and a yearlong recovery.
Transitioning from detailing as a hobby to professional, Harry sought training that could teach him what he didn't know as an amateur.
That trainer was Renny Doyle of Detailing Success in Big Bear, CA. Doyle had recently earned the nickname "Detailer of Air Force One" after helping Seattle's Museum of Flight restore the paint and brightwork on the newly acquired first presidential jet, displayed on the tarmac in Seattle's notoriously rainy climate.
Harry found Renny's skill and knowledge of how to run an efficient detailing business, worthy of mentorship.
After serving on one of the early teams of detailers who began restoring the presidential plane, (read more about the Air Force One Detailing Team & Project here), the experience inspired Harry.
He began to use those same techniques on the priceless plane's brightwork to improve results on polishing motorcycles.

The amazing revitalization of the iconic plane's badly deteriorating paint using "paint correction" also turned the business around for Harry.
He began using paint correction to restore the shine on aging vehicles and classics, and to preserve that shine for months rather than weeks using what was at the time, the hottest new product on the automotive appearance care market - Ceramic Coatings.
These techniques and products, along with the option of orbital versus rotary power buffers for polishing, set Harry on the road to excellence in detailing.
That excellence led to his being inducted into the Detailing Success Network Hall of Fame in October, 2025.
Detailing Industry leader, Military & Law Enforcement Charities & Community Involvement
Over the past 15 years, Harry has become well-known in the detailing industry acting as Celebrity Guest Detailer at SEMA in Las Vegas and as a spokesman for Flex Buffers.
He attended the former McCall's Motorworks Revival, the kickoff to Monterey Car Week where he and another Detail mafia member detailed an Arch Motorcycle for actor Keanu Reeves, who owns the company.
Two years ago, facing several health issues and much needed knee surgeries, his doctor recommended a warmer climate where he could convalesce.
Harry and his wife Debbie started building a house in Cape Coral, Florida, but traveled back and forth between Florida and New Jersey like many a snowbird, until this past summer.
With the house complete and Harry fully recovered from his health issues, he turned over management of Dirty Harry's in New Jersey to his daughter Gina, and his Hogfather Motorcycle Detailing in New Jersey to his son Joe.
Harry recently announced he has launched both Dirty Harry's and The Hogfather in Cape Coral, Florida where he services both Lee and Charlotte counties including Ft. Myers.
Never one to shy away from involvement in volunteer work with military and law enforcement groups, Harry joined the Cape Coral Eagles Lodge 3957 and Cape Coral Cop Shop, a First Responder nonprofit for active and retired police, fire and Emergency Management Services.
He has a long history of pro bono work under his belt leading a team to help veterans maintain their vehicles; helping restore law enforcement and EMS vehicles after Hurricane Sandy; and restoring vintage firetrucks for parades and museums.
Deeply involved in the detailing industry nationwide, Harry has been a partner and trainer for Detailing Success satellite locations in N.J. and has appeared at various venues as a celebrity detailer for Flex North America Buffers.
New Jersey Operations
Gina Sandwith
Gina Sandwith has not only mentored under her Dad detailing, but she too spent five days training under Renny Doyle at Detailing Success where she got her detailing certification.
Gina is a Marine veteran whose combat service in the Battle of Marjah in Afghanistan prepared her for the two-year fight of her life with breast cancer. She is now eight years cancer free.
She is also a Jersey City police sergeant and ironically, Gina feels detailing is the perfect sideline for policing.
"As a cop you see people at their worst moments and often in great distress," she explains.
"It is imperative that as a police officer, we be the steady, calming force on the scene and maintaining that level is in itself stressful because the police are often the difference between life or death.
"But when I put those earbuds on with some music and start working on a car, it takes me to a place that is almost completely the opposite of that. It is a quiet place, free from stress and I enjoy that alone-time."
Since Harry moved permanently to Florida, Gina now runs the Jersey operations for Dirty Harry's Detailing in South Amboy as a mobile detailing operation.
